The Department of Automation at Shanghai Jiao Tong University is inviting applications from highly qualified candidates who have earned their Ph.D. degrees from leading universities overseas. The Department enjoys great reputation at home and abroad and is aiming to further strengthen its faculty. The Department’s current strength of research spans a wide range of topics, including, among many others, complex networks, chaos control, model predictive control, autonomous mobile robotics, medical image processing and its clinical application, aerospace information and control, image-based three-dimensional motion analysis and application of spatial information processing theory and technology, wireless sensor network technologies and applications, biomedical information processing.. The rapid expansion of research and teaching activities in the Department entails further enhancement of its faculty. Special areas of interest include, but are not limited to, Complex system and control theory， Autonomous systems and network engineering， Pattern recognition and image processing, Process control and optimization, Operational research and system optimization, Intelligent robotics, Wireless sensing network, Intelligent detection technology and equipment, Intelligent transportation systems, Bioinformatics, 3DVisualization and reconstruction, Space information technology, Artificial intelligence, Systems engineering, Financial engineering, Computer vision.
