英国诺丁汉大学神经药理学研究员岗位 Applications are invited for the above post. The successful candidate will be an experienced postdoctoral scientist with proven skill with patch-clamp recording techniques and an interest in the role of bi-directional communication between neurons and astrocytes in the brain. The research will focus on the mechanisms underlying ectopic release of transmitter in the cerebellum, and the impact of this phenomenon on neuron-glial transmission and cerebellar plasticity. The project will combine electrophysiological recording techniques and computational modelling, and the candidate will be expected to take the lead in developing the direction of the research. The project will be housed in newly refurbished and equipped laboratories within the School of Biomedical Sciences, in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Nottingham which boasts world-class facilities in which to undertake research. Candidates should possess a PhD (or equivalent) in neuroscience, pharmacology or a closely-related discipline. Candidates should have experience as a postdoctoral researcher, or have recently qualified as a PhD scientist with an outstanding record of performance in their postgraduate research. They should also have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate on all levels across many areas. It is a condition of this post that satisfactory enhanced disclosure is obtained from the Criminal Records Bureau. This full-time post will be offered on a fixed term contract of up to 36 months and is available from 1 October 2012. |
