Description We are looking for an enthusiastic postdoctoral scientist to carry out innovative research within the Cancer Research UK Colorectal Tumour Biology group at the University of Bristol. 

The central theme of the research is to increase the understanding of key events in early colorectal carcinogenesis, including the importance of the tumour microenvironment for gene expression and function. The role will focus on pathways increasing PGE2 levels, pathways regulating prostaglandin catabolism and novel downstream targets of COX-2/PGE2 signalling and how they promote tumour growth and survival during the adenoma-carcinoma sequence. The focus will include COX-2/PGE2 signalling within the stem cell niche, and implications for therapy. The research will continue to inform present and future translational studies. This post is funded for three years.

If successful, you may be appointed either on a fixed-term or an open-ended contract depending on the extent of your previous relevant research experience. Three years’ appropriate and relevant experience at another higher education institution would normally lead to an appointment on an open-ended contract.
