Postdoctoral Research Scientist in MRI
Tsinghua University – Philips Joint Program
A scientist position for a person with expertise in MR physics and experience with Philips MR scanners is available immediately. The successful candidate will work at the Center for Biomedical Imaging Research in the Tsinghua University School of Medicine, Beijing, China in collaborations with center researchers and will also work closely with Philips Research.
Successful candidates will have a strong background in MRI physics and sequence development on Philips MR Scanners. They will have experience engaging with clinical fields such as physicians and psychiatrists to collaborate in research. The research projects will primarily focus on MRI pulse sequences development, including accelerated imaging techniques and signal quantitation. The position is available immediately and applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Required Qualifications:
• Completed Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Biomedical Engineering or other related field;
• Development experience with MRI pulse sequences. Familiarity with the Philips Paradise (Goal-C) tool is a plus.
• Highly motivated with a strong interest in MRI research;
• Proficient in C or C++ as well as Matlab or IDL;
• Strong communication skills in English. Chinese is a plus;

CBIR is a state-of-art medical imaging research center led by Prof. Chun Yuan from the University of Washington and Tsinghua University. It has established strong collaborations with industry and international academic partners through Professor League of world renowned medical imaging scientists. It is equipped with a Philips 3T whole-body MRI scanner. The 3T MRI system is an increasingly common platform for research and clinical applications that can be used for development of techniques as well as basic and clinical research, and for teaching and training. Additionally, CBIR is fully equipped with affiliated equipment for imaging technique development, hardware development, image processing and clinical research. An advanced Philips 3D iU22 ultrasound scanner is also equipped to accelerate the progress of a multi-modality center.
