Portsmouth Business School is a large multidisciplinary school with a vibrant environment. We comprise of six subject groups across the full spectrum of business and management disciplines and the School of Law. We are seeking to appoint a post-doctoral researcher for a fixed-term of two years to join a team of researchers working on a cross-disciplinary research EPSRC-funded project investigating Volunteer and Crowdsourcing Economics (VOLCROWE).
We are seeking to appoint a post-doctoral, Senior Research Associate. The principal focus of the investigation is the Zooniverse (www.zooniverse.org), a large and successful platform for online citizen science and not-for-profit crowdsourcing projects, with the objective of making significant contributions to theory and empirical evidence relating to the economics of digital volunteering. The team is comprised of members from the University of Portsmouth, University of Oxford, University of Manchester and the University of Leeds and is being expanded in size to a total of eight researchers.
The successful candidate is expected to have a formal background in economics and applied econometric analysis, ideally with experience of collecting and analysising survey data and working with other large datasets. They will be closely collaborate with other members of the research team and will be expected to make a significant contribution towards a number of scholarly articles to appear in high ranking academic journals, as well as assisting with the organisation and delivery of dissemination efforts, including workshops, conferences and a number of written reports intended for a range of different audiences.
