Post Description:
We offer a contract for a post-doctoral researcher in the group of Dr. Gian Gaetano Tartaglia. The lab, which was recently awarded an ERC grant, uses both computational and experimental methods to discover interactions between macromolecules with special emphasis on amyloid proteins. The post is for an experimentalist that will employ a number of assays to detect interactions between protein and RNA molecules.
Main Responsibilities:
• Carry out a research project on interactions between protein and RNA molecules. • Interact strongly with other researchers in the lab ( Phd students and Post Docs) who work on closely related topics.
Candidate requirements:
• The candidate will have a PhD title and at least one first author publication. • The ideal candidate will have familiarity with handling RNA as well as experience on protein expression and purification techniques. The candidate will also have at least some familiarity with RIP or CLIP techniques. Experience on protein aggregation is a plus. • Excellent organizational skills. • Highly motivated interactive person, with ability to work independently. • Good communication skills in English.
Work conditions:
• Work contract: temporary full-time position. • Estimated annual gross salary: according to profile and experience. • Starting date: 2013, February.
